*A GREAT Welcome to the B.T.H. Mountain Goat Challenge where participants can 'Climb to GREATNESS'  on any day within the qualifying period.

Qualifying Period
*TBC
As this is a virtual challenge, participants can attempt on any day within the qualifying period, between 7.00am to 7.00pm.

We recommend doing the challenge on an off-peak period such as a weekday so as to avoid the crowd on weekend mornings.

Participants who are unfamiliar with the route may wish to do a recce prior to the actual attempt. 

Time Restriction/Limit
*Participants can start anytime from 7.00am onwards.
*The final loop must be completed latest by 7.00pm.  
NOTE: Any loop started before 7.00am and/or completed after 7.00pm will not be counted. 

Support/Aid
*Participants are to be self-sufficient with fluid/food/first aid kit/etcParticipants MUST NOT leave your items unattended at all times at the area outside the Toilet or Visitor Centre as it will attract monkeys to come & take your items.  It will also result in complaints and a cancellation of this challenge. Your unattended items may be confiscated/removed.  So please carry all your items with you OR have someone look after your items at all times OR place it in your vehicle at the carpark.  There should not be any form of setup, for example table/tent/etc.

*Near the start line, there are water coolers (free of charge) outside the toilet & vending machines (items are chargeable) at the Visitor Centre.

Requirements & Mountain Goat Level
- Participants are to complete a minimum of 3 loops of the route in one go between 7.00am to 7.00pm (12 hours) on any day within the event period to qualify as a Finisher.  
NOTE: Participants can rest in between loops (e.g. go for lunch, etc).  We will just count the total number of loops completed on the day of your attempt between 7am to 7pm.
 
B.T.H. Mountain Goat SHOWDOWN
*The top 5 Females & top 5 Males who complete the most number of loops in 1 go in the fastest total elapsed time during the event period will be invited to participate in the 'B.T.H. Mountain Goat SHOWDOWN' where they will 'battle it out' on the route from 7.00am till 7.00pm.  

*The top 5 Males & top 5 Females can choose to do the SHOWDOWN on any day within the Showdown period.  We highly recommend doing it on a weekday especially if you wish to avoid the crowd on the weekends.

At the showdown, you can have a support crew/pacer but please ensure please limit to a maximum of 2 support crew.  We will cancel the Showdown on the spot if we observe the following:
- Too congested with support crew
- Too noisy/disturbing the peace/playing music/cheering/shouting
- Taking up a lot of space, and not giving sufficient space for the public such as seating on all the benches
- Littering 
- Inconsiderate to others and members of the public
    
NOTE: 
- Participants are to be self-sufficient/have your own supplies BUT MUST NOT leave your items unattended at all times as it will attract monkeys to come & take your items.  Unattended items will be confiscated/removed.  So please have someone look after your items at all times OR place it in your vehicle at the carpark.

DO NOT make loud noises such as shouting, ringing of bells, playing of music, etc.

- Please be considerate in your actions as there are others who are there to enjoy the beautiful outdoor & nature.

- All rubbish/waste is to be disposed into the waste/recycle bins.  Please do not litter anywhere else, such as along the route.  You will be disqualified if you are spotted littering.

- You can have a support crew/pacer but please ensure they adhere to the points mentioned above.  And please limit to a maximum of 2 support crew.

- Participants are allowed multiple attempts to complete as many loops as possible in 1 go between 7am to 7pm on any day within the qualifying period.
- After completing their attempt(s), participants must inform the Race Director latest by the day after.  For example, if you did the attempt on 15 Mar, you must upload your activity & inform the Race Director by 16 March.  If sent more than 1 day later, that activity will not be eligible to be counted for the 'SHOWDOWN'.
There will be a Top 10 Leaderboard, which will be updated whenever there are changes to the Top 10.
- If any of the top 5 is unable/do not wish to take part on the 'SHOWDOWN' dates, the slot will be given/'rolled down' to the 6th participant & so on.
- The results will be verified & published after both days of the 'SHOWDOWN'.

Participant/Finisher Entitlements
(A) A Finisher Tee (quick dry & light fabric) for Finishers
(B) An E-Bib number tag
(C) An E-Certificate for Finishers
NOTE: Participants can opt out of the Tee.  The cost will then be donated to charity.

Eligible Activities
*Participants can Run, Walk, Hike
NOTE:
- Manual entries of activities & activities without route maps are not eligible.
- Use of any mode of transport/device/bicycle/etc are not permitted.

Tracking/Verification of Activities

*Strava (https://www.strava.com/) will be used as the primary means of verification of participants' activities.

- For those who do not have a Strava account, this is a free-to-join app which you can use it to record your activities OR sync with your activity tracking devices such as Garmin, Coros, Suunto, etc.

*In the registration form, you'll need to input your Strava Athlete Name & the URL link to your Strava profile (for example, the URL link to Ben Swee's Strava account is: https://www.strava.com/athletes/15096947). If you are unable to locate the URL link to your Strava profile, please 'follow' Ben Swee (Click HERE) & he will 'follow' you.
NOTE: If you're already following Ben Swee in his Strava, you can leave the URL field empty.  

*Activities will be randomly verified.  Activities, such as those with unbelievable pace/distance, no route map, will not be counted.

NOTE: 
- For your convenience, you do not need to manually submit your activities/screenshots of your activities for verification.  Just inform Ben after you have completed and Ben will verify your activities via your Strava account. 

Finish
* After completing your attempt(s), participants must inform the Race Director (via WhatsApp/SMS or Email) latest by the day after.  For example, if you did the attempt on 15 March, you must upload your activity & inform the Race Director by 16 March.

*Ben will then verify your activities & send the e-certificate to you within approximately 48 hours.

Shipping of Items
*Shipping of the Finisher items is free of charge to Singapore addresses.  

*The finisher items will be ordered only after the qualifying period ends & will be shipped out approximately 2 months after that.

*The Finisher item(s) will be sent to participants who met the finishing requirements.  Participants who do not meet the finishing requirements will not receive the Finisher item(s).

NOTE: If the shipping address you provided is wrong, we will not resend any replacement items and there will not be any refund of any amount.  Hence, please ensure you input the correct shipping address, postal code, email address and contact number in the registration form.

*By registering for the event, you fully agree to participate at your own risk & fully indemnify the organiser, and its partners/sponsors against any claim(s), not limited to medical/monetary, for any health issue(s), injury, and/or death as a result of your participation.

*Please abide by the COVID-19 rules & regulations, if any.

*Exchange of T-Shirt size is subject to availability and shipping costs for the exchange are to be paid by the participant prior to the exchange.  Alternatively, the exchange can be done at the organiser's address.

*After payment of the registration fee, you acknowledge and accept that there will not be any refund to you, be it a partial or full amount. In addition, there will not be any roll over of your entry to another event.  However, you can transfer your registration to another person before the end of the event period by notifying the organiser at runningguild@gmail.com.

Safety
* Please ensure you are in good health before taking part.  We recommend you have a personal health/accident insurance policy.  

*Please take all necessary precautions before, during & after the activity, such as: medication, first aid/anti-blister kit, sufficient rest/sleep. 

*As most of the route is in the trail, there is a higher risk of sprain/fall due to uneven terrain such as rocks, mud, tree roots, etc.  Please be extra careful.  If you get injured and you require assistance, please ask passers-by to assist or use your mobile phone to call your contacts.  

*Do the activity together with someone if it is possible.  If you're heading out alone, please ensure you inform someone about your route, estimated duration & what time you expect to be back to home.  

*Bring along your mobile phone during the activity as it'll be useful in the event of an emergency.

*Bring a power bank & charging cable(s), if necessary, to charge your mobile phone/watch/etc.

*Hydrate & Fuel well before, during & after the activity.  

*DO NOT approach any animals/insects you encounter.  Do not attempt to feed/touch them.  Stay clear of them.

*Stay alert & beware of danger along the route, e.g. vehicles, dangerous animals/insects/plants, etc. 

*Be prepared for severe/bad/hot weather/lightning/strong wind.  You may wish to bring a rain jacket/poncho & change of clothes.

*Have a good recovery after the activity, e.g. recovery drink/meal, massage, foam rolling, stretching.

The actual T-Shirt may have a slight difference from the size chart.  If you prefer a looser fit, please order a larger size.
