SG ExploRun - Live Life Exploring
*Kickstart the new year with your inner Explorer spirit as you embark on a journey of exploration on foot, self-navigating between various interesting spots & historical landmarks in Singapore at the SG ExploRun, presented by Running Guild.

*The SG ExplorRun is to be completed in 1 go and participants can decide which landmark they wish to start from.  As part of the Explorer's spirit, participants can decide which route they want to take to get from the 1st/starting landmark to subsequent landmarks.

*The SG ExploRun is to be completed on foot, not by any other means such as bicycle, mobility devices, public/private transport. 

*In the spirit of Exploration & to allow participants to fully enjoy the experience, there is no cutoff time to complete the journey to all landmarks.

*To add fun & creativity, 10 participants stand to win supermarket vouchers from the SG ExploRun photo contest & and another 10 participants from the SG ExploRun STRAVA art contest.

*Episode ONE will have SG ExploRunners traversing the North/South of Singapore, with the southern end located at the 'Southernmost Point of Continental Asia' in Sentosa, and the northern end located at the 'Northernmost Fishing Pier of Singapore' in Sembawang.  With total of 7 landmarks, the estimated total distance is 35km, depending on the route participants take.

EVENT PERIOD
*1 Jan to 31 Jan 2022

ROUTE
*Participants can decide which routes they like to take to get from the 1st/starting landmark to every predetermined landmark until the final landmark.

NOTE: 
- There is no need to return to landmark which you started from.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES
*Run/Walk/Hike activities showing the routes you took are eligible.
*Strava (https://www.strava.com/) will be used as the primary means of verification of participants' activities. 
NOTE:
- Manual entries of activities & activities without route maps are not eligible.
- Use of any mode of private or public transport/device/bicycle/etc is not permitted.

DISTANCE
*Estimated 35km, depending on the routes chosen.

TIME LIMIT
*No time limit to be a Finisher.
*For those love a challenge, participants can opt to be awarded a Trophy if they complete within the maximum elapsed time of 4hr 30min.

FINISHER ENTITLEMENTS

(A) A Finisher Tee (quick dry & light fabric).
(B) A Finisher Medal (large sized).
(C) An optional Trophy for Finishers who complete within the challenge's qualifying time.
(D) An E-Bib number tag.
(E) An E-Certificate.

LANDMARKS
Participants can start from any of the landmarks listed below and reach all other landmarks in order to be considered a Finisher:

(4) Merlion @ Ang Mo Kio (View Map)

(6) Merlion @ Mount Faber (View Map)
(7) Southernmost Point of Continental Asia @ Sentosa (View Map) The rope bridge to the Southernmost Point may be closed so just get to the start of the rope bridge before the closed section.
NOTE: The list may be amended due to situations such as closure/construction. Kindly check here prior to starting your SG ExploRun.

PHOTO CONTEST & PRIZES
*To add fun & creativity to your ExploRun, 10 participants stand to win supermarket vouchers from a photo contest which will be held on 3-10 Feb 2022 on our Facebook page.

* The top 10 participants (based on the most number of 'Likes' on the photos submitted) will win the following supermarket vouchers:
- Champion: $50
- 2nd: $40
- 3rd: $30
- 4th: $20
- 5th to 10th: $10 each

*Terms & Conditions of SG ExploRun Photo Contest
1. Photos must be submitted by 1 Feb 2022 11.59pm to runningguild@gmail.com

2. The photo(s) must include at least a part of the Landmark, which must be from the SG ExploRun List of Landmarks.

3. Every participant can submit a maximum of 7 photos.  It can be at the same Landmark.

4. The photo(s) submitted must be wholly owned by the participant and the participant agrees/allows Running Guild Pte. Ltd. to publish the photo(s).  The photo(s) must not be from any other sources/copyright by others.  If there is/are any copyright infringement(s), the participant who submitted the photo(s) will be held fully liable.

5. The contest will be held on Running Guild's Facebook page from 3 Feb 2022 0000hrs till 10 Feb 2022 2359hrs.  Results will be announced on 4 Feb 2022.  The supermarket vouchers will be sent to the winners together with their Event items.

6. The prizes to be awarded will be based on the number of 'Likes' received on the photos.  However, each participant can win only 1 prize even if more than 1 of his/her photos get the Top 10 number of 'Likes'.  In such a situation, the subsequent prize will be awarded to the participant of the photo which has the next most number of 'Likes'.

7. A participant can take part in both contests (Photo & STRAVA Art).

STRAVA ART CONTEST & PRIZES

*Terms & Conditions of SG ExploRun STRAVA Art Contest
1. A screenshot of the completed STRAVA Art (showing the Strava Name, Date of Run & Route) should be submitted as soon as possible after your run/walk (latest by 1 Feb 2022 11.59pm) to runningguild@gmail.com

2. The STRAVA Art must pass by all of the Landmarks as shown on the List of Landmarks.  Any Landmark(s) which have been missed out will result in the submission being ineligible for the contest.

3. There is no limit on the number of STRAVA Art participants can submit.  However, the STRAVA Art submitted for the contest must be original & not a copy of someone else's route.  This means that if a participant had already completed & submitted his/her STRAVA Art, another submission of the same STRAVA Art by another participant will not be not eligible for the contest.

4. The contest will be held on Running Guild's Facebook page from 3 Feb 2022 0000hrs till 10 Feb 2022 2359hrs.  Results will be announced on 4 Feb 2022.  The supermarket vouchers will be sent to the winners together with their Event items.

6. A participant can take part in both contests (Photo & STRAVA Art).

TRACKING/VERIFICATION OF ACTIVITIES

*STRAVA (https://www.strava.com/) will be used as the primary means of verification of participants' activities.  Participants can either use their GPS watch/app and sync their activities automatically to STRAVA OR use the STRAVA app on a mobile phone to record their activity.

- For those who do not have a STRAVA account, this is a free-to-join app which you can use it to record your activities OR sync with your activity tracking devices such as Garmin, Coros, Suunto, etc.

*In the registration form, you'll need to input your STRAVA Athlete Name & the URL link to your STRAVA profile (for example, the URL link to Ben Swee's STRAVA account is: https://www.strava.com/athletes/15096947). If you are unable to locate the URL link to your STRAVA profile, please 'follow' Ben Swee (Click HERE) & he will 'follow' you.
NOTE: If you're already following Ben Swee in his STRAVA, you can leave the URL field empty.  

*Please allow Ben Swee to 'follow' your STRAVA account and set your privacy settings to allow 'Followers' to view your activities so he can verify your activities.

*Activities will be randomly verified.  Activities, such as those with unbelievable pace/distance, no route map, will not be counted.

NOTE: For your convenience, you do not need to manually submit your activities/screenshots of your activities for verification.  Just inform Ben after you have completed and Ben will verify your activities via your STRAVA account.

FINISH
*Please inform Ben (via WhatsApp/SMS or Email) after you have completed so he can verify your activities & send the e-certificate to you within approximately 48 hours.

SHIPPING OF ITEMS
*Shipping of items is free of charge for Singapore addresses.  

*As the event ends on 31 Jan 2022 & we will only order the event items after that, the items are targeted to be shipped out by late Mar/early Apr 2022 in view of the Chinese New Year period.

NOTE: If the shipping address you provided is wrong, we will not resend any replacement items and there will not be any refund of any amount.  Hence, please ensure you input the correct shipping address, postal code, email address and contact number in the registration form.

*For participants who completed within the qualifying time for the Trophy & have opted to receive the Trophy, we will arrange with you to hand deliver the Trophy together with the Finisher Tee/Medal.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
*By registering for the event, you fully agree to participate at your own risk & fully indemnify the organiser, Running Guild & Ben Swee, and its partners/sponsors against any form(s) of claim(s), not limited to medical/monetary, for any health issue(s), injury, and/or death as a result of your participation.

*Please abide by the COVID-19 rules & regulations.

*Exchange of T-Shirt size is subject to availability and shipping costs for the exchange are to be paid by the participant prior to the exchange.  Alternatively, the exchange can be done at the organiser's address.

*After payment of the registration fee, you acknowledge and accept that there will not be any refund to you, be it a partial or full amount. In addition, there will not be any roll over of your entry to another event.  However, you can transfer your registration to another person before the start of the event's qualifying period by notifying the organiser at runningguild@gmail.com.

SAFETY
* Please ensure you are in good health before taking part.  We recommend you have a personal health/accident insurance policy.  

*Please take all necessary precautions before, during & after the activity, such as: medication, first aid/anti-blister kit, sufficient rest/sleep. 

*Do the activity together with someone if it is possible.  If you're heading out alone, please ensure you inform someone about your route, estimated duration & what time you expect to be back to home.  

*Bring along your mobile phone during the activity as it'll be useful in the event of an emergency.

*Bring a power bank & charging cable(s), if necessary, to charge your mobile phone/watch/etc.

*Hydrate & Fuel well before, during & after the activity.  
- Along the road, there are many locations where you can get food & drinks such as petrol stations, convenience stores, coffee shops/hawker centres/fast food restaurants/etc.

*Stay alert & beware of danger along the route, e.g. pedestrians, vehicles, bicycles, motorised devices, potholes, dangerous animals/insects/plants, etc. 

*Please watch out/stay clear of oncoming vehicles, especially when you are on the road such.  Cross only when it's safe to do so.  Use the pedestrian crossing/zebra crossing where possible.

*Wear bright/reflective apparel/socks/footwear/items so others are aware of your presence.

*Be prepared for severe/bad/hot weather/lightning/strong wind.  You may wish to bring a rain jacket/poncho & change of clothes.

*Have a good recovery after the activity, e.g. recovery drink/meal, massage, foam rolling, stretching.
